Getting Your Education Benefits Started

 

==>  Go to the Veterans Certification Office in Neuberger Hall Room 104.

The purpose of this office is to get your government money flowing in; they can also answer any questions you might have about your education benefits. 

You will be certified by the following people who work in that office:

For last names A-M: 

     Robert Hindahl                            503-725-5523

For last names N-Z: 

     Victoria Yanhson-Chau             503-725-3468

 

==> The following Identifies which chapters you may fall under for education benefits: 

          Chapter 30:

     Montgomery G.I. Bill (active duty) 

Chapter 31:

                 Vocational Rehabilitation- *note- Voc. Rehab is for service members who are currently receiving medical disability from the government and who have been accepted into this program. As a program this pays for all your tuition and books, if you are receiving disability and are interested in this program, please talk to someone, i.e. a veteran’s service officer (VFW, American Legion) or the PSU Student Veteran Association for more info.  

 

==> Location of Voc Rehab Office:

                On the 12th Floor of the Edith Green and  Wendell Wyatt Federal Building @ 1220 S.W 3rd Ave.- 503-412-4577

Chapters 1606 & 1607

                These Chapters are for National Guard and Reservists, 1607 is for those members who have been deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. Please ask the Veterans Certification Office for more info.

 (Note- the Veteran’s Certification Office is for getting your benefits not for questions about your education plan, etc.)
